Service Setup
Schedule for 2011-2012
Dear Temple Beth Torah Congregant,
Temple Beth Torah counts on its members to set up and clean up for our Shabbat services on both
Friday evenings and non-B'nai Mitzvah Saturday mornings.
This is a rotating support function that
only occurs twice per year where you, with a handful of other TBT families (your Chaverim group),
are responsible to
set up the sanctuary, handle the Oneg, and clean up afterwards. Even though
this process is significantly faster and easier now that we have our own space,
Chaverim participation
is still a vital responsibility.
Each Chaverim group is like a team and changes each year so you have the opportunity to get to know
other families. It is critical that the team members
communicate with each other and not let each
other down. If you can't make an assigned date, it is imperative you switch with someone else in
the congregation.
The whole system breaks down when people just don't show up. Please don't just
email and say you won't be there or wait until the last minute to switch.
Let your Chaverim know
whom they can expect in your place if you can't be there. As a team, please make sure there will be
enough food and people
to accomplish all the Chaverim tasks in a timely manner. In addition, the
Chaverim schedule is posted in the weekly Blast and in the TBT newsletter.

Shabbat services are one of the cornerstones of Temple Beth Torah, and we count on you to make the Chaverim
process function successfully. It is only twice a year
and a great opportunity for you and your family to
do a mitzvah and come enjoy services. We count on everyone to do their part - this responsibility is part of
your commitment to TBT.
The entire congregation and I thank you in advance for your participation in this most important process.
Don't hesitate to call (703-753-6124) or email me
at mgk11@verizon.net if you have any questions regarding this
or anything else "TBT".
Sincerely,
Matt Kestenbaum
President
